"Art for Tapies is not a decorative object, it is a philisophical system of language" writes Deborah Wye, curater in the Department of Prints and Illustrated Books at The Museum of Modern Art, New York. Created as a special edition for the exhibition "Antoni Tàpies in Print" at MOMA, May 7 - August 9, 1992, her extended essay incudes conversations with the Cataln painter and art theorist, Tapies. in his Barcelona Studio and binds biographical content alongside artistic excavation. In dialogue with the book, Tapies contributed unique pieces to the work himself.
