      8vo. Publisher’s dark blue cloth lettered in gilt to spine, in the illustrated dust-jacket by Osbert Lancaster; pp.191, [1]; price-clipped, three small tape repairs to verso of jacket, but otherwise very bright, spotting to top- and fore-edge of textblock; very good.

      First edition, first printing of the novel following Jerry West, who falls in love with a flight attendant but must recover a missing Gainsborough miniature before he is able to marry her.

      The UK edition was published on 29 October 1970, and it was followed by the US edition a few months later on 22 February 1971.
