First edition. The authors worked on the the Scoresby papers, bequeathed to the Whitby Literary and Philosophical Society, ordering and listing them. Their work resulted in the present life, which quotes extensively from the papers. - This copy signed by both authors inside front cover, a typed letter on the printer's stationery, signed by Cordelia Stamp addressed to Paul Gallico, thanking him for the beauty and precision in the description of a snowflake in Gallico's book The Snow Goose, to which the Stamps refer on page 37 in this book.
