This rare pamphlet was published in the year the Hejaz Railway reached Al-'Ula station and six years before completion. Sarolea comments on the news that a German company has obtained a licence to built a line from Aleppo to Mecca. 'The Holy Land will become a German Province. The network of German railways will radiate from Mecca to Constantinople, and from Smyrna to the Persian Gulf' (p. 25).
