First edition. Frederick Nash, studied architectural drawing under Thomas Malton and later enrolled at the Royal Academy of Arts. In 1810, he became a member of Society of Painters in Watercolours, whose members had seceded from the Royal Academy over complaints that their work was not being recognized. Nash established a reputation as a painter of landscapes, especially of scenes in Germany and France such as the ones reproduced in these engravings.
