A set of 11 8 x 10 inch black and white original single weight glossy silver gelatin print still photograhs from the 1936 film Secret Agent. One photograph with staple pin holes in margins and signs of being mounted on paper at some stage otherwise in near fine condition.
Based on Somerset Maugham's Ashenden stories and directed by Alfred Hitchcock, Secret Agent starred Peter Lorre, John Gielgud and Madeleine Carroll. These photographs include two very striking portraits of Peter Lorre as the "Hairless Mexican", and a group shot of Hitchcock, Lorre, Carroll and Robert Young.
Also included is a rare 4 page advertising foldout for the film, printed in orange and black with an image of Lorre on the front cover under the caption "Who is this sinister little man". Over printed on the back with the details of a screening at the Majestic Talkies cinema in Ajmer in India, with the exhortation that "It is the paramount duty of every true Britisher to encourage Britishh Film Industry in India by according his full measure of patronage to every British film when released for exhibition in his station".
