First edition. A study of the Wonkonguru people and their neighbours in the region east of Lake Eyre. Aiston had twenty years of experience as a mounted trooper among the desert tribes. The authors were resident in the area and based their studies on those of Spencer and Gillen, the former of whom read the book in manuscript.
