First edition. Harvey documents a three week expedition in a rowing boat of over 1,000 miles along the Seine, Doubs and Rhine and a train journey from Germany to Belgium. The voyagers who are referred to throughout the text as the Professor, the Captain, and the Doctor encounter a variety of demeanors of people throughout their travels. The author was a Cornwall author, composer and curate.
