    • COLVILLE, W. J. Fate Mastered Destiny Fulfilled. New York: R. F. Fenno & Co. [1900].

Small 8vo. Original illustrated cloth; pp. [viii], 52, [3, advertisements]; cloth a bit dusty and with light wear to extremities; internally, apart from one small spot and even light toning, clean and fresh.

Very rare first edition of a guide book on spiritualist self-healing and fulfilment. Just one other title by the productive writer William Juvenal Colville (1862-1917), Universal Spiritualism Spirit Communion in All Ages Among All Nations, illustrates his stance. According to Colville's own and contradictory statements he was born in England between 1857 and 1862; he introduced himself to the American public with his 1878 book The Medium and Daybreak as a trance medium with a unique capability: impromptu and subconscious poem-making, écriture automatique before surrealism.
