Reprint of the 1928 collection of short stories by the prolific Scottish author John Buchan. This collection consists of 12 stories, each relayed by a member of a fictional London dining society, The Runagates Club. Several of the stories are told by characters from his other writings, including the infamous Richard Hannay who recounts the tale of The Greene Wildebeest. In the preface to The Runagates Club Buchan lends origin to the name of the club from a verse in the 68th Psalm: "He letteth the runagates continue in scarceness".
