Buchan, John The 3 Hostages Boston and New York, Houghton Miffin Company 1924.
8vo. Original grey cloth decorated in red with scarce dust wrapper; pp. (12) 367 (3); wrapper a little worn with some edge-tears and slight bruising to head and foot of spine; book is near fine copy.
Scarce First Edition, preceding the UK edition
The 3 Hostages is the fourth of five of the classic Richard Hannay novels. Given that Ferris Greenslet, (also a fellow fisherman and wartime friend of Buchan), was a partner at Houghton Mifflin, it was the first of Buchan's many American editions to be published by the firm.
