A catalogue for the 1–17 May 1919 exhibition of original drawings by Beardsley at the Rosenbach Galleries in Philadelphia, featuring several drawings from the collection of Frederick H. Evans, presentation copies, two hundred proofs of Beardsley’s illustrations, original drawings from Bons Mots, and much else.
The Rosenbach Company was formed in 1903 by the renowned book dealer A.S.W. Rosenbach and his brother Philip, who dealt in antique furniture and art. They operated from 1320 Walnut Street from 1903 to 1943, additionally selling china, glassware, silverware, and more. The preface is by the Philadelphia-born draughtsman and book illustrator Joseph Pennell (1857–1926), extracted from his article on Beardsley in the first issue of the Studio (April 1893) and followed by an April 1919 postscript.
