The Hotel Espana is located on San Pablo Street in Barcelona near Las Ramblas in the Raval neighbourhood. Originally built in 1850 as a bathhouse and rental housing, the establishment was converted in the early twentieth Century by Architect Domenich Montaner.
It became an outstanding example of modernism in Barcelona and won Barcelonas city council prize for design. The hotel today is a member of historic hotels worldwide.
