Air France was formed in August 1933 through the merger of five existing airlines in France. In 1947 Air France started to operate Lockheed Constellations on passenger and cargo services world wide.
In 1952 Air France moved its base to the new Orly airport. In the 1950's graphic designer Jean Carlu produced promotional posters for Air France. This label was produced in conjunction with the French Toursim board to encourage people to try the new Constellation and visit post War France.
