Kate Allan
Early Books & Manuscripts
Kate completed her doctorate in English at Exeter College, Oxford, in 2023, specialising in seventeenth-century women's scientific writing. She joined Sotheran's in 2025 following a year at Bernard Quaritch and a brief interlude as a postdoctoral researcher working on scientific poetry from the Renaissance to the Enlightenment. She now works primarily in the Early Books and Manuscripts department, with a particular focus on English books.
