Large 8vo.;.publisher's deep red cloth panelled in beige and decorated in gilt to spine and upper board, top edges gilt, others untrimmed; pp. viii + 172, with a total of 32 fine tissue-guarded coloured plates in both colour and half-tones and a folding map tipped-in to the rear, externally very good and clean with a knock to top forecorner of lower cover, internally uncommonly fresh, lacking blank front free endpaper with a neat strip of transparent tape to inner gutter, and with previous owner's armorial bookplate to front pastedown endpaper; an elusive title.
