All that survives of Bruno Shulz's literary output are two collections of short fiction, a series of his correspondence and journal entries all composed in Polish. Most of his artistic work did not survive the Holocaust and the man himself was shot by the Gestapo in 1942.. Regardless, Schulz is considered one of the greatest Polish language writers of the 20th century.
First published in Polish in 1934, Cinnamon Shops tells the story of life in the cloth merchant's shop where he was raised by his eccentric father. It is included here with the novella The Comet.
