First edition, first impression, a presentation copy inscribed by Robert Mapplethorpe to the legendary music producer Michael Ross.
This catalogue was published on the occasion of the eponymous 1983 exhibition at Museo Fortuny, Venice, and displays a selection of the exhibited work. This unique copy comes from the collection of Michael Ross, to whom it has been inscribed by the photographer. Ross was a music art director who was responsible for album cover art for artists including Paul McCartney, Elton John, and Sting, and later collaborated with Mapplethorpe on the cover for Joan Armatrading’s 1985 album Secret Secrets.
