First edition. Apart from shooting Best reports on a visit to Janina/Ioannina, home of Ali Pasha and in the 19th century the cultural capital of Albania, "a magnificent, but almost unknown country" (p. v), before moving slowly towards the east, visiting and describing Istanbul in detail, and travelling overland back through the northern Balkans.
