Contemporary vellum; pp. [vi]. 212, [10]; engraved frontispiece (cropped and pasted onto front fly-leaf at an early date), engraved vignette to title and on at the end; four plates of the collector's cabinet (one a little cropped at outer margin), folding map of the Greek World and 25 plates depicting ancient coins; one corner worn, one with old leather repair, spine labels lost, front inner hinges strengthened, frontispiece with a few minor flaws, a few marginal traces of humidity, a good copy.
First edition. A splendidly produced catalogue of the coin collection assembled by the Dutch numismatist Jacob de Wilde. He collected as well medals, antique statues, and scientific instruments. His collection was housed in a museum built behind the property he owned in Amsterdam; the Museum Wildeanum was an international attraction for visitors.
