Restored contemporary half calf over pebble-grained cloth, all edges gilt; 38 original photos of Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide mounted recto-verso on boards, 4 of Sri Lanka and 8 of Egypt; rebacked and endpapers renewed; edges of mounting boards a bit toned, otherwise very good.
A fine and early photo album documenting Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide during a period of rapid development.
Ten Sydney photographs are by George Bayliss, one of the best and most eminent topographical photographers of Australia of the time.
