PETTY, George. TWA, Keep Em Flying!

Original luggage label, printed in c.1943. 145 x 85 mm.

The Boeing 307 Stratoliners were pressed into service when America entered the War in December 1941 after Pearl Harbour. Additional fuel tanks were added to give them extra range required to cross the Atlantic. They flew 3000 transatlantic flights to Africa and Europe.

TWA's 307 were still flown by TWA's crews even though they had been purchased by the US Government. The TWA stewardesses continued to wear their uniforms during the war.

Signed by Petty.
