Uncommon first edition, presentation copy, inscribed by the editor to Quentin Keynes (the economist's son). The German traveller, scientist and collector had been in South Africa and later sold 500 of his plant specimens to the British Museum.
Provenance: Quentin Keynes was an explorer, writer, filmmaker, and and as a bibliophile a collector of books on exploration.
