8vo., original brown decorative cloth, lettered in gilt to the spine; presentation label to a previous owner on the front paste-down; 64 photographic and 32 colour-plate illustrations, with a pull-out map at the end of the volume; cover design heavily rubbed and faded, corners bumped, with a small split to the tail of the spine, joints also a little cracked at the extremities, offsetting as usual to the end-papers and scattered foxing throughout, else a very good copy.
Second edition, first A & C Black edition and the first with colour plates. One of 3000 copies. Originally published in 1910 by Kegan Paul & Co.
This volume is slightly larger than the rest of the 20 Shilling series.
