Federica Galli was born in Soresina in the province of Cremona, Italy in 1932 and studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts, Brera, Milan between 1950-54. It was at this time that the artist discovered etching. In 1963 Galli abandoned painting to concentrate entirely on printmaking. As a result her extensive body of work spans some fifty years and boasts over eight hundred printed plates.
The Venice Series was produced between 1983 and 1987 and includes 39 etchings. All the etchings are in limited editions, printed on the highest quality paper and signed by the artist.
