Second German edition of a scarce narrative of the Danish Greenland expedition, written by one of the participating artists. The leader of the expedition and two of his companions died at 79 degrees N. 'This publication is notable for its pictorial record of day-to-day activities and personnel of the expedition' (Arctic Bibliography). The Northeast of Greenland was thoroughly explored, and Friis reports on sledging, hunting, archaeology, ethnography and the natural history.
