A comprehensive description of each book is given, along with a small passage with the author's opinion on the text. Though bibliographies have fallen out of favour in the modern era, the ones that remain are invaluable in providing us with insight into the cultural mindset of the time, and this volume is no exception. Concise and urbane, with the occasional dry comment, Farquhar is a pleasure to read.
