Very rare first edition of one of the first botanical monographs on the two Gulf countries. Violet was the wife of H. R. P. Dickson, the author of The Arab of the Desert and Kuwait and her Neighbours. - She is revered in Kuwait (as Umm Kuwait, Mother of Kuwait) and the Dickson house is now a cultural centre.
