DENUCE, Jean. Bibliographie Antarctique. London: Quaritch/Orskey, 2002.
8vo. Original cloth, spine lettered in gilt, dustwrapper; pp. 271, [1 (blank)]; new.
Facsimile reprint of the 1913 first edition, limited to 50 copies. Denucé's original has become very scarce, which is to be lamented due to its importance -- it surveys not only those areas covered by bibliographies such as Spence and Renard, but also articles and journal publications. Rosove comments that it 'deserves more recognition than it has received, despite its problems, since it is a crucial link in the development of Antarctic bibliography', although it is not without its shortcomings, since it contains 'numerous small errors and omissions, and presentation of data is inconsistent' (ibid.).
For the first edition, cf. Rosove 92.A1; Spence 366.
