Henry Christopher Bailey is remembered as an English crime novelists of the so called 'Golden Age', presiding alongside nototious literary profiles such as Agatha Christie. Bailey was initially employed as a journalist for The Daily Telegraph, during which he wrote on subjects as varied as war correspondance, drama criticism and the taking on of editorial positions. In addition, he published several novels of historical fiction.
Bailey preodminantly wrote short stories revolving around the investigations of surgeon Reggie Fortune and Mr. Fortune Here features nine detective stories and is the last collection of Reggie Fortune stories.
