Pan Am was founded in 1927 and began as a scheduled airmail and passenger service flying between Keywest Florida and Havana Cuba.
Pan Am introduced the Sikorsky aircraft in the early 1930's followed by the Boeing 314 in 1938 (Yankee Clipper).
In July 1939 Pan Am introduced the service on the Northern route to England - from Port Washington (New York) - Shediac New Brunswick - Botwood Newfoundland - Foynes Ireland - Southampton.
