The Hotel opened in 1910 and has been owned by the Imfeld family since the 1930's.
The Hotel was designed by Alphonse Laverriere a Swiss Architect who designed many iconic buildings in Lausanne.
It is located near to the railway station and has a panoramic view of Lake Geneva and the Swiss Alps. The Hotel soon began to attract a wealthy clientele and particularly those who wished to pursue Winter sports. New mountain railways were built between 1890 and 1912 and these would take the Hotels customers to the Ski slopes of the Swiss Alps. The Golden age of tourism in Switzerland had started.
