The Hotel known then as the Tramontano opened on the Corso Vittorio Emanule in 1870.
George Parker a marine biologist came to own the Hotel by settling the previous owners gambling debts. From then on the Hotel became known as Hotel Parkers and appeared with this name in the famous Baedekers guidebooks.
