The Hotel opened in 1909 in a building dating to 1758 on Place de la Concorde.
In 1788 Francois de Crillon acquired the building for his home. In 1907 the Societe du Louvre purchased the property and turned it into a Hotel. It is now a historical monument. Many famous guests including Churchill, Madonna and Theodore Roosevelt have stayed.
