First edition.Taken from the John Hopkins University Studies in Historical and Political Science, this chapter gives a comprehensive account of the Ohio Canal Project, from inception to completion. With keen attention to detail, much in line with the works preceding it, the project is followed through the rigours of governmental bureaucracy. Included are footnotes to the relevant source material. In 1938 the canal and adjacent grounds became a National Park.
