Publisher's original cloth, elaborate pattern incorporating columns and Turkish motifs blocked in colours to upper cover and spine, lettered in gilt; pp. ix, 282, 8 (publisher's catalogue); 63 colour plates, captioned tissue guards, 1 folding map; apart from the usual offsetting from endpapers, minimal rubbing to binding and light dulling, one plate a little crinkled at lower margin, a good copy.
Second printing of the first edition of 1906, which can be distinguished by the gilt top edge.
