The order of the flaming belly
[SANDERS, Ed (editor).] Fuck You: A Magazine Of The Arts, Number 5 Volume 5. New York: Fuck You Press1963
4to. 46 pale pink mimeographed leaves, unpaginated, staple bound; minimal crease to top left corner of first three pages, otherwise a near fine copy.
Famous contributors to this specific issue include Englishman Harry Fainlight, a poet who was overshadowed by his Beat accomplices during his lifetime, but who has become a staple name in the movement posthumously. Fainlight’s 12-page pamphlet, “Sussicran,” (Turret Books, 1965) was the only manuscript published during his lifetime. Orlovsky (partner to the famous Allen Ginsberg) contributes a four page spread with his poem "The Change: Kyoto-Tokyo Express July 18, 1963". In the Contributors note, Ginsberg is described as "a counterquirt martian cock agent for The Order of the flaming Belly. Recently puked back to NY where his craggy shriek-brows + panting body are vectors of the TOTAL TURNON".
