Small format 8vo., original green card covers, ruled and lettered in black and white; pp. [vi], 7-190, [ii]; a near-fine copy, lightly scuffed at edges and creased along spine; a touch browned at backstrip; with some faint pen marks to the upper edge of the lower cover; lightly spotted at fore-edge.

First edition, No. 37 in the Traveller’s Companion Series. Printed in April 1957 by Imp. S.I.P., Montreuil, it was originally sold for 1.200 francs.

Encouraged by his friend Alexander Trocchi to publish erotic fiction at the Olympia Press, John Stevenson became one of the more prolific writers for the ‘Traveller’s Companion’ series. This book focuses on the sexual awakening of a brother and sister in 15th century
Italy. It was followed by another, ‘House of Borgia 2, Part 2’, in 1958.
