Originally published by Cassell in 1883, Treasure Island remains one of the utmost classic adventure tales. Treasure Island was a book born out of a game with Stevenson’s stepson during a bout of bad weather, in which Stevenson invented a secret map to hunt for hidden treasure. Subsequently, with its tales of “buccaneers” and “buried gold”, Jim Hawkins and Captain Flint have captured the imaginations of generations of readers.
