Small format 8vo., yellow card wraps, glued and stitched binding in a similar style to the Traveller’s Companion Series, lettered and bordered in black and white; pp. [vi], 7-683, [v]; printed on thin India-style paper; a very good copy, a little creased and shelf-worn, particularly so along the spine; small splash mark to inside lower cover; the text block pulling a little at the binding, with some binding string showing through; ffep with some tears at gutter; some pencil markings, previous price and an ownership name in biro to the ffep.
Second issue after the limited two-volume set published in 1953 in a run of 2000 numbered copies. Printed in July 1956 by S.I.P. Montreuil, France and priced 1.750 Francs to the lower cover.
The second volume in Miller’s 'Rosy Crucifixion’ series, following ‘Sexus’ (1957) and preceding ‘Nexus’ (scheduled for publication in 1959, but never published by the press, and later appearing in 1960). A semi-autobiographical work which follows the author’s six year
period in Brooklyn, detailing his romance with second wife June, and ending with his departure for Paris in 1928.
