DE RICHARNAUD, Ezra The Small Rooms of Paris. Paris: The Olympia Press.1956.

Small format 8vo., original green card covers, ruled and lettered in black and white; pp. [vi], 7-188, [iv, ads]; very good, rubbed to all edges, creased along backstrip with nicks to spine ends; text block coming away at backstrip due to disintegrating glue, but holding at foot.
First edition, No. 20 in the Traveller’s Companion Series. Printed in the first quarter of 1956 by Impr. Spéciale des Editions, and priced 900 Francs. The author’s name is likely a pseudonym for Arthur Freeman.
Beginning with a wet dream and ending with the downfall of the ‘King’, de Richarnaud’s sexual romp involves prostitutes and their pimp, portrayed as the unlikely antihero, along with thieves and other characters on the backstreets of France’s capital city. The title was changed in the 1960s to ‘King Pimp’.
