First edition thus. With full-page illustrations and vignettes throughout by John Austen (1886-1948). Austen was a prolific illustrator known widely for his contributions to literature through his distinctive style. Active during the early to mid-twentieth century, Austen was highly regarded for his ability to capture the mood and essence of a tale through his illustrations, often employing a delicate and ethereal style that lends itself superbly well to the satirical tone of Bryon's Don Juan.
