My weekly shelf walk. Arthur Rackham's Midas and more

Monday was a crazy day which brought back memories of the infamous Hoover flight offer.

Oliver, our colleague, is a fabled Tweeter with a legion of fans. His enthusiastic talk of Sotheran’s triple-locked valued customer file, and invitation to subscribe, was clearly a temptation too great for some.  For many, in fact.

Our mailchimping is going to be much wider read in the future!

They say be careful what you wish for, it might just come true. And having literally hundreds of new clients signing up to e-mailings in a breathless stampede is something we have dreamt about. Just hoping it works out better for us than it did for King Midas, who learnt to live with regret.

Which is a long-winded way of mentioning that Arthur Rackham did some pretty splendid illustrations of old King Midas.  They appear in Hawthorne’s Wonder Book and, quite by chance, there is a glistening copy for sale on our website - and a couple more fine Rackham’s just into stock below.
