(13 x 19cm); unbound as issued; pp. [viii]; with two comic engraved in-text illustrations and large hand-coloured vinegar valentine grotesque to the first leaf; colour bleed from first illustration showing through to verso of leaf 1, some fraying and chipping to extremities; fragile, but very good.
An early example of a Vinegar Valentine, which became popular from the 1830s through to the Victorian period. This examples contains thirty-six verses of both the Vinegar and romantic varieties.
