Rectangular Victorian valentine (9 x 13.5cm approx), textured paper rimmed in pink, with onlaid bouquet featuring numerous chromolithographed flowers and 'With best wishes' ribbon to the base; ribbon pull allowing flowers to fall forwards, revealing countryside scene with figures, and printed aphorisms to the reverse; ribbon a little frayed at each end; mechanism delicate; a charming design, not seen before by this bookseller.
