THON, O. Teodor Herzl. Warsaw, M. J. Freid, 1929.
8vo. Original printed wrappers; pp. 47; browned as usual due to paper stock. - Together with a fine tinted photogravure portrait postcard of the iconic Theodor Herzl portrait, photographed by Mauricey Lilien (the 'Jewish William Morris', whose first exhibition catalogue we have in stock as well), and printed during the Russian Revolution of 1905 with Hebrew printing. The only 'achievement' of the 1905 revolution was the official abolition of censorship. However, in the 'liberated' parts of the Russian Empire revolutionaries printed anyway what they liked, as did the Zionists, who at that time moved towards a revolutionary movement.
