First edition. A useful work by Thomson (1765-1846), the first professor of surgery at the College Of Surgeons in Edinburgh who was known as "the most learned physician in Scotland" (ODNB). This book contains detailed descriptions of every conceivable kind of inflammation, swelling, ulcer and abscess, with special attention paid to gangrene.
