First edition illustrated by E.H. Shepard. De luxe edition, LIMITED TO ONLY 200 NUMBERED COPIES, OF WHICH THIS IS 11, SIGNED BY BOTH KENNETH GRAHAME AND E.H. SHEPARD. This has to be the most popular illustrated edition of the classic book. Shepard's drawings have not been improved upon and certainly outshine those of the illustrators who preceded him in their treatment of the work. The limited edition enjoys very fine production making the book a joy to read and handle, and the illustrations capture the incision of fresh engravings, with a clarity that greatly excedes the trade edition. This unopened copy is a virgin example for the collector.
