The Repulse Bay Hotel opened on New Years Day in 1920 on the south side of Hong Kong island and was an exclusive destination up until its closure and demolition in 1982.
The Hotel promoted its location as "the Riviera of the East." Guests included Wallis Simpson, Hemingway and Marlon Brando.
The Hotel was renowned for its British Architectural style and was owned by the Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels group. During World War II it was used as a stronghold and a Hospital by British forces.
