Original dark brown pictorial cloth blocked in green, black and gilt to spine and upper cover, all edges gilt, original coated yellow endpapers; pp. [iv] + 97; with decorative title-page, initials, vignetttes, and text throughout printed in sepia alongside 6 fine chromolithographed plates guarded by plain tissues; externally and internally clean and bright with minor rubbing to spine ends and a neat calligraphed inscription, Frederick William Rathbone, to front free endpaper, with browning and spotting to tissues, but otherwise fresh.
